| The Pastor’s
Aide Club was organized on June 15, 1937 under the leadership of our
first pastor, Reverend George E. Galloway. Sister Eva Brooks was elected
first President and served until 1952. Our second President, Sister Sarah
Allen served from 1952 to 1974 under the pastorate of Reverend Ernest
R. Gibson, Sr. With Sister Allen’s passing, Sister Willa Mae Hinton
was elected President and served from 1974 to 1991 when she was called
to eternal rest. Sister Verlette Simms was elected President in 1992
and served until Pastor Gibson was called home to be with the Lord in
1998. A job well done by the Pastor’s Aide Club and all of the
past Presidents as they served under the leadership of two great preachers,
orators, Christian statesmen, and above all … humble servants of
God.
The Pastor’s Aide Club was inactive for several years following
Reverend Gibson’s passing. But in May 2003, God sent First Rising
Mt. Zion another giant, Reverend Raymond C. Bell. Under Pastor Bell’s
leadership, the Pastor’s Aide Club was re-named the Pastor’s
Aide Ministry. In September 2003, Sister Loretta P. Wilson was elected
President of the Pastor’s Aide Ministry and Sister Clara Washington
was appointed the first Armor Bearer. Under the leadership of Sister
Wilson, the ministry began sponsoring a dinner show fellowship to celebrate
Pastor Bell’s birthday on May 29th.
Members of the Pastor’s Aide Ministry provide support and assistance
to our Pastor as he purposes. Our mission is to ensure that the physical
and material needs of the Pastor are met. We also minister to visitors
to the church by making follow-up contact by phone. We serve with a
spirit of humility and love. We have been blessed with Pastors who
have great vision. That which God has given them inspires us greatly.
To God Be the Glory!
